Beware of the free trial of Zamoura Instant Wrinkle Reducing Matrix and Zamoura Instant Wrinkle Reducing Matrix. The word "free" here is a misleading scam in my opinion. It is not free in any sense of the what most people think the word means. Let me explain.
If you read their terms and conditions, they state:
I have both fond memories of my beloved Radio Shack and the hatred that comes from being jilted. You see, at one point in my childhood, I could not have enough Radio Shack. I did very well in High School. Not Socially but academically. I quickly figured out the recipe for success. Listen to the teacher, scan the subject text book, and barf out the information back on the test. I got so I didn't really even need to listen to the teacher, the book would suffice to pull down the A.
It was all about getting information from a source that was deemed accurate and trusted, and then remembering it. Easy peazy.
Like many, I have considered "cutting the cord" for a very long time. I don't like cable companies and I really don't spend that much time in front of the TV anyway. And when I do, I often rent a DVD from Red Box, or download something from Netflix. So, I decided to push off the cable company and use an Antenna and Over the Air signals for my local TV Stations. That ultimately led me to implementing MythTV on a Linux box to use as a DVR/PVR but more on that later. My first hurdle was how can I get the best signal possible.
After writing that Yahoo comment article, I started thinking about why. Why are we so polarized? Why does there seem to be so many people at the extremes, shouting, screaming and hating? Here is someone who does an elegant job of explaining it. This is professor Lawrence Lessig and he starts of by describing Lesterland.
At some point, Yahoo needs to do away with their comment section. Its embarrassing. Embarrassing for us as humans to witness the sheer stupidity that is the Yahoo comment section. Yes I know what you are thinking, "What about Fox News? That's pretty darn lame right? People are pretty stupid to watch that right". OK, but on Fox News, its kind of fun to watch just from the entertainment point of view. Yes its all slanted BS with a little bit of fact tossed in and yes there are people who do believe in it, but without it, John Stewart wouldn't have as much material.
We (my family and I) are watching American Idol. Its Thursday Jan 31, 2013 and watching this particular show really makes me realize just how far American Idol has fallen. How the management turned a show that often showed class into what it has become this season is truly stunning. We just watched a beautiful contestant with an amazing voice who also was a ventriloquist. She was great but the judges could not see it, especially with her holding and operating her puppet. Ultimately they had her sing without her puppet and they voted her in (Randy voting no).
I recently left my phone on my mother in laws car and she took it for a ride that unfortunately ended with a crash to the pavement. This left my Motorola Bravo MB520 phone with a cracked screen. The outside glass was OK, but the inside screen had purple streaks on it preventing me from reading parts of the screen. Well I did a little research and found out that it is pretty easy to repair this kind of damage. Even if you have cracked the outside glass, that is also fairly easy to repair.
Lately my heart is going out to conservatives. The party of Abraham Lincoln is turning into the party of stupid.
When the polls were showing Obama leading, I kept hearing from conservatives that the polls were wrong. The pollsters were over polling Democrats. Or they weren't polling older people (who they said were more conservative) because polling was being done via cell phone and old conservative codgers don't apparently have cell phones.
The Tea Party is mostly upset with one thing. The deficit and by extension, that national debt. Now that sounds pretty reasonable. We all want responsible government spending. And isn't the deficit insanely high lately? The national debt (and by extension the interest on the debt) is astronomical. So isn't the Tea Party something we can all get on board with.
Maybe. But this is the reason that looking at things without context is dangerous. So lets put some context around this issue.
